In LinkEHR we added an artifact called “semantic pattern” that was a predefined ADL structure that was also added as a binding (DCM::SemanticPatternId). I think this is what you describe.
We use it for different things, such as CLUSTERs equivalent to complex data types in different RM, or semantic structures that represent classes in other RMs
