Hi,
I just received an email which had news about London underground strikes starting on November
Unfortunately, 5th and 6th are strike days. For those of us who will attempt to use the London underground on those days, this requires serious pre-planning. I don’t want to sound too negative but the strikes, when they happen, pretty much ruin travel through London.
So whatever your travel plans are during those days, please try to factor in the underground almost not functioning. There’s a knock on effect on everything, from busses to taxis, so please try to plan ahead.
Personally, I need to figure out how the h**l I’m going to get back to my home in London for example…
It would make sense to add to this thread what will work and what will not if/when we find out.
It should be, but never hurts to check. That’s why I suggested we use this thread. The strikes can be cancelled at the last minute, or not. In short: welcome to London!
I know there may be underground strikes in London but trains from Heathrow to Reading don’t appear to be affected as these are overground.
Tickets are available on line if you prefer this means of travel.
Looking forward to seeing you at the conference.
