openEHR Events, 2026

openEHR community members,

We have a number of exciting events planned for the coming year. In order to make things easier for our community, members and partners, we’ve produced this list so that you can plan your attendance and/or support. If you would like more information about any of these events, or are considering participating/sponsoring openEHR at one or all of them, please email events@openehr.org. We would be happy to discuss combined offers of support or sponsorship to suit your availability, needs and budget.

:electric_plug: IHE plugathon (openEHR track) - Brussels, March 24 - 25

Taking place over 1.5 days, openEHR participation will feature two subtracks:

(i) Exploration track: this aims to advance practical, standards-based interoperability through experimentation and collaboration (to include ‘Realization of IHE mXDE data extraction on top of openEHR systems’ and an exploration of ‘Using openEHR modelling methodology to inform IHE and FHIR Implementation Guide development’.

(ii) Testing track: this will focus on IPS, going beyond a simple discussion, though probably not as far as full testing.

The overall aim is to advance interoperability between IHE, openEHR, and FHIR, owing to the growing data exchange required by EHDS.

A dedicated webinar is planned, focused on the IHE Plugathon for openEHR, to draw interest and explain the aims and expectations in more detail.

We’re looking for support with either sponsorship, CDR capability or active participation (or all three).

:mermaid: HIMSS (openEHR pavilion) - Copenhagen, May 19 - 21 https://www.himss.org/events-overview/european-health-conference-and-exhibition/

HIMSS is offering the following:

An openEHR pavilion, featuring:

  • Minimum of 4 companies

  • Branding & Awareness: Logo onsite and online under the Specialty Pavilion category

  • 3 Conference passes (per company)

  • Additional passes at a discounted rate

  • Investment per company would be 6,500 eur.

For smaller organizations, we can create additional opportunities with a different type of presence, for a lower cost.

:people_hugging: Converge and Collaborate (openEHR and HL7) - Dublin, May 11-12

This event will expand on last year’s ‘Converge or Collide’ event held in Amsterdam, with the aim of progressing the ongoing collaboration between openEHR and HL7 FHIR. We also hope to facilitate a joint meeting between the openEHR SEC and CPB, potentially on Monday 10 May. Tickets will be on sale shortly.

 EHRCON26 - venue/date TBC

Details to follow very soon. Broadly speaking, we’ll be looking to raise sponsorship funding to make EHRCON26 even better than last year’s conference. We’ll use a tiered system for sponsorship, similar to the brackets last year (see table below which provides a useful guideline until more concrete tiers are agreed).

Most of all, we’d love to hear your ideas and inspiration for EHRCON26!
