would there be a way to create a query that would show the latest
changed / added pages to the website - in a form that would look ok on
the home page.....maybe it can't be automated, since we wouldn't want to
list pages with just a typo fixed....any ideas? Otherwise we have no
easy way of showing on teh website what has been added...or
substantially changed...
It will be great if it can be automated. I know in WikiMedia you can tag the change to a minor change (for typo etc) or an ordinary change so only the ordinary changes are collected into recent changes category automatically.
Otherwise, I think we should agree that the author of each major web page update should be responsible to report the change to a common web/wiki page that is linked to the start page. A little brief summary about the change will be nice for each announcement.

3) Email notifications:
When you're logged in you can go to 'user settings' under the top left
menu item and enter a query that will result in emails notifying you of
new content.
Now this is not exactly what you want, but if you want to automate what
you want on the homepage, you need to define a very specific query AND
we need to figure out how to put it there without making the page too
cluttered.
