I am not a clinician and I am trying to develop a template for the intravenous
therapy. I found the archetype:
openEHR-EHR-ACTION.intravenous_fluid_administration.v1draft
Where I put this
openEHR-EHR-ITEM_TREE.intravenous_fluids.v1draft
archetype into the slot.
But unfortunately it does not cover all of the data items I need.
‘Additives including Dose’ is not covered and I couldn’t find it in
any other archetype.
Do I have to specialise the archetype or is there any other archetype?
You will need to do a little work to get this right. I believe that we have a complex instruction and action - which are covered to some extent in formulation, except that the fluid itself is often a key therapy. So we might expect 500mls NaSaline with perhaps some Potassium added. You want to be able to say what is added and how long the fluid is to be given over.
I believe we need to look at the formulation archetype (it has ingredients 1..*) and I believe the doses as well. I would suggest that this may need to be specialised for the special case of intravenous fluids although dose duration is still there.
