My name is Papa Alioune Cissé, I am Senegalese, and I am new to OpenEHR.
I have two questions to start:
I’ve noticed that French isn’t very widely available among the translation languages. If I want to have the archetypes and my templates in French, what do I need to do? At what level should I perform the French translations? In the OpenEHR CKM or in the Archetype Designer?
If I have a terminology server where I host and maintain international terminologies and local value sets, how do I use it in the coded fields of my templates? How do I reference the server and select local terminologies/codes?
You can submit translations in the CKM, and personally I prefer doing the translations there rather than in Archetype Designer though I know others who have different opinions. Here’s a quick guide on how to translate in the CKM: Translate Archetypes Using CKM - openEHR Clinical - Confluence
PS! We’ve just gotten a translation administrator for French; @emmanuel.eschmann. Translation admins are the ones who can commit translation branches to create a new revision of the trunk archetype.

We, too, prefer to translate missing languages (German and, more recently, French for us in Switzerland) in the CKM. This way, we can use international archetypes without unnecessary local specialisation wherever applicable.
Thanks for your reply. From what I understand of the link shared by Siljelb, I can submit translation proposals. I’ll try my best. I’ve started a new electronic health record project with openEHR. And our working language is French. There will even be needs for local languages, but that’s for later.
