The Archetypes Music Ensemble....

Hi all. The Archetypes will be playing again at this year’s EHRCON and the current band members - @johnmeredith, @Jaime @xabiermichelena and @SevKohler - need some instruments. We’ll be able to source most of the technical equipment (PAs, cables, mics etc) from the venue itself, but if you’re a Netherlands local, and you have the means to provide a guitar, keyboard, drum kit… drop me a line here and we’ll tick it off the list.
Don’t forget also that The Archetypes is more of a co-operative, super-group of travelling highwaymen and women, so if you’d like to join them to play or sing, you’re more than welcome. :singer:
And if you haven’t yet booked your EHRCON26 ticket… https://www.tickettailor.com/events/openehrinternational/2178011

Lol. Now I really do have FOMO by not attending this year. :frowning:

Is there a musician out there who plays Argentine Tango music? That would be fun for us dance fanatics. We love jive as well, of course.:man_dancing:t3::woman_dancing:

We can give it a go! Are you visioning something like this? https://youtu.be/Gcxv7i02lXc?is=mawRMqX_0ZmZ6ZoB

Definitely, but doubt we could quite match this vibe!! Tango is a magical dance for all ages, though.

Here (in tune 3 of the 5) is a guitar version of Por Una Cabeza. Best played a bit slower with your own musical interpretation – less robotic!

Quick update. The venue has:

  • Amps (2 guitar, 1 bass)
  • Microphones X3 (at a price)
  • Mic stands included
  • Cables etc included
  • PAs for voice & keys included

which means we still need:

  • Drumkit
  • Keyboard
  • Keyboard stand
  • Guitar x2
  • Bass guitar

So - just the actual musical instruments then. :grimacing:

Don’t panic, there’s a place in Amsterdam that rents them out, but in the meantime, if you’re a Netherlands local and you can bring that electric guitar that you bought on a whim on ebay during the pandemic… drop me a line. :sign_of_the_horns:

Newsflash!

Owing to creative differences*, The Archetypes currently do not have a drummer!

We’re looking for someone who is (moderately) talented, (reasonably) committed and comfortable playing an odd mix of rock, soft rock, hard rock and Dolly Parton tunes, with a good sense of timing - obviously - and the ability to play to the song rather than just show off.
Rehearsals - well, sort of. But we will have a dodgy old drumkit you can use. So that’s something.
Experience is preferred, but attitude is more important. Ridicule is nothing to be scared of.

In all seriousness, if you’re interested, drop us a line. We need you!

*this isn’t true. He’s just busy.
