I’ve reviewed the Task Planning protocol and some blogs, and I think this is a very important feature. I’m not sure if my understanding of the current situation is correct: now, Task Planning has protocol, but no off-the-shelf software yet (I mean something runnable like camunda, not just displayed on the draw.io tool.). If I want to add TP to my system, either build it myself or wait for Archie to implement TP?
I’m quite surprised to discover that the Archetype Designer has this feature. Although I don’t quite understand how to use it yet, I plan to try it out later.
Hi Michael, task plan as is turned out to be very hard to implemented. So openEHR SEC has decided to pause the development of the spec and release it for others to work on. The author of task planning (and most of the openEHR specs) @thomas.beale is still keen to work on it, outside of openEHR governance. So maybe discuss your interest with him.
And places like Karolinska University Hospital (where I work) are still very interested in getting functionality corresponding to the interesting ideas/designs in Task Planning. I believe there will be work done “outside of openEHR governance” for a while to get something that is powerful but hopefully easier to implement/use. When that has been well tested it might get adopted back into mainstream openEHR (and then to begin with likely as a trial version).
