Hi!
I am an intern in respiratory medicine in Athens-Greece. I've seen the list of archetypes and i did not see one about pulmonary function tests (spirometry). Is an archetype about it going on? If not how can i help?
thanks!

Hi Evgenios
It would be very good if you would take this on. The observations will be in an observation class - we need to consider what the implications are of one or more archetypes to cover the area. It would be good if you considered spirometry first but probably include a peak flow meter as well (ie describe the device if nec in the protocol).
It is probably important that you look at the HISTORY class and the ability to get maximums and minimums through this path rather than as data points. Peak flow is a maximum but over one respiratory cycle so probably should be a point measurement (much as systolic is in BP).
You can start with the Ocean Editor or Linkoping one and have a go at an observation. We have a group who will review it and soon we will have a library and controlled environment for the archetypes.
Cheers, Sam

Hi Evgenios,
I’d be happy to work with you on the archetyping side of things – although respiratory function tests are not part of my immediate area of expertise and will rely on you (and interested others) for the content of the archetypes.

thanks for the answers!
i do not how to build an archetype but i am willing to learn.
i am a linux user and already downloaded a java based archetype editor found in openehr site.
