Archetype Companion - a new sidekick for openEHR modellers

Archetype Companion - a new sidekick for openEHR modellers

The openEHR community now has a new tool to support day-to-day archetype and template work: the Archetype Companion, officially launched at the end of an openEHR fellowship focused on modelling and governance.

The Archetype Companion is designed as a lightweight sidekick rather than a replacement for existing tools or processes. It:

· Makes it easy to navigate the complex archetype ecosystem

· Brings key information about archetypes into one place, and

· Helps to plan your template project

This first released version focuses on three main goals:

Clarity – Enhance understanding of archetypes by providing easy access to their key information (including relevant openEHR specifications) and visualising their interdependencies.

Discoverability – Provide a detailed and fast search across archetypes to quickly find candidates for reuse, adaptation, or creation.

Documentation – Make it easy to keep track of the data elements being modelled and the planned template structure.

Behind these features is a simple intention: reduce friction in the journey from idea to planned openEHR template structure.

The Archetype Companion is intended as a community asset and is free to access.

This is a great contribution, I had the opportunity to review it and it is a good example of innovation in the modeling process and tooling.

Congratulations @Martin_Koch !
