I was wondering whether there is a way to change one archetype class to another; for instance to ‘save as’ a CLUSTER archetype as an OBSERVATION (different class of archetype, the same items)

Sorry Pariya,
Not without doing a bit of a cut and paste/edit job in ADL, although
this is not as hard as it sounds if you use an existing minimal
OBSERVATION archetype. I also find XMLSpy very helpful for ADL editing
as it seems to understand levels of nesting and even color codes some
of the code sensibly. Oxygen may be just as good.

Asking Oxygen XML Editor to interpret ADL as python gives a reasonable
view and collapsability.
