Pregnancy History

The pregnancy_evaluation archetype provides ability to capture previous pregnancies information in a very limited way.

For each previous pregnancy, users need the ability to capture information such as date of pregnancy, gestational age, length of labor, baby’s birth weight, baby’s gender, type of delivery, place of delivery, if pregnancy resulted in preterm labor and any additional comments.

Can this be accomplished by adding to the pregnancy_evaluation archetype or is there a “history” type archetype that should be used to capture this information?

Please respond- Thanks,

Hi Emma

The idea is to reuse archetypes - they do not equate to screen forms directly. We use templates for the screen forms. The openEHR template model will soon be available and will help you understand this process.

The pregnancy archetype is designed to be used for each pregnancy - it is just that people want to summarise the number of prior pregnancies with each pregnancy (ie it is explicit). Thus if you want to enter information about previous pregnancies just add another pregnancy archetype and you can add all the information about that one.

Does that make sense?

Cheers, Sam
