Join openEHR as Chief Executive Officer

CEO – Leading the Global Health Data Revolution (Part-Time / 0.6 FTE)

openEHR International is at a pivotal moment. With growing global momentum behind open, computable health data, we’re recruiting a strategic and diplomatic Chief Executive Officer to lead our next phase of growth and impact.

This is a high‑impact, part‑time role (3 days per week) for a leader who can operate at the intersection of health policy, technology, and international partnership, and who is comfortable being the public face of a mission‑driven, global standards organisation.

The role

You will:

  • Drive openEHR’s strategic inclusion in the European Health Data Space (EHDS) and related initiatives (including IPS)
  • Strengthen our footprint in key markets including the UK, Australia, Asia, and the Americas
  • Continue the progressive shift for strategic partnership with bodies such as HL7 and SNOMED International, and support broader collaboration across the global standards ecosystem
  • Guide the evolution of governance structures (including affiliate coordination and programme governance)
  • Operate the business: lead the operational team and ensure the organisation runs efficiently and credibly

Who we’re looking for

A leader who combines diplomatic skill with operational execution. Someone who understands the complexity of health systems, can navigate EU/global policy environments, and can secure sustainable, mission‑aligned funding (e.g. membership growth, sponsorship, grants/donations, partnerships and other revenue opportunities consistent with openEHR’s purpose). You must be willing to travel internationally and represent openEHR at key events and forums.

Key details

  • Commitment: Part‑Time (3 days/week; 0.6 FTE)
  • Location: Remote (global remit) with required international travel
  • Closing date: Sunday 25 January
