Demographic Archetypes

Hi, all.

Please allow me to ask a question which may have been answered on this
list before.

Just a hint to where I can find the information will do (if possible),
in that case, please also tell me the page/chapter, if possible, etc.

Now my question,

As I am used from before, there should be demographic-archetypes, which
have bindings to the RM-objects which derive from Locatable.

Such as Person, a.o. It is also still used as example in the ADL 1.4
document, latest version (from april this year)

I need to construct these kind of archetypes, but I cannot find any help.

The Archetype-Editors, from Ocean or Sweden do not offer them as an option.
I could create them manually, but I am uncertain if this is a right
thing to do.

I found a bit similar example, Patient, in my local SVN-copy on
knowledge/archetypes/dev-uk-nhs/adl/openehr/ehr/structure/openEHR-EHR-ITEM_TREE.patient_information.v1draft.html

It is about patient and because Patient is not an RM-object, it is build
on a ITEM_TREE. Maybe it is reasonable, but why isn't it derived from
Person.

Maybe it is not a good example, maybe there are good reasons to derive
Patient from Item_Tree.. That would be another discussion.

But still the question remains, why do archetype-editors not support the
Locatable-derived Person, what is the use to derive Person from
Locatable, if it is not to use in a archetype?

This is an important question to me, because I am stuck right now at
this question.

Please help me (please read below or/and):
- to help me find documentation where this question is explained
- to help me find a valid archetype build on person
- explain why archetype-editors from Sweden and Ocean do not support Person.

Thanks very much in advance.

Kind regards
Bert Verhees

Hi Bert,

The simple answer why the LiU Archetype Editor does not support this feature
is that we have not had time to implement it yet.

Thanks, that is a quick one. It really helps, if I understand well.

You say it is legal to use f.e. Person (or another dervied from Actor)
in an archetype.
I have to build them manually, it is no problem, just some work, I will
survive that.

If there are more opinions on this, I am glad to hear about them

thanks
Bert

Hi Bert,

We have done some demographics Archetypes, which are derived from Person. You need to use data structure classes to model the details.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, this helps, I need this kinds of confirmations.
Because there was not many support for demographic archetypes, I was
afraid that these were deferring direction obsoleet.

But at the same moment they are part of the specs 1.0.1.

Thanks
