Hi, I’m starting a research on EN13606. In many places mention that EN13606 defines archetypes to constraint it RM, but I can’t find the spec of such archetypes.
Anyone knows if there is a spec for EN13606 archetypes?
If I make an archetype with the OpenEHR archetype editor, this archetype is compatible with the EN13606 RM? I see in OEHR website that OEHR is compatible with EN13606, but I don’t know if this compatibility extends to the archetypes too.
Currently, I don’t know of any tools that produce EN13606 archetypes.
So far, where ever EN13606 has been trialled, they have in fact been using openEHR. openEHR archetypes are described using the same language (ADL), however the openEHR RM is a superset of the CEN 13606 one. Certainly, CEN13606 extracts can reliably be produced from openEHR data.
EN13606 (now ISO 13606) archetypes follow the same archetype model and ADL syntactic representation as openEHR. What changes is the underlying Reference Model, what you do is to constraint its specific classes and attributes. OpenEHR archetypes are not directly compatible with the 13606 norm, but the can be easily converted to it, the standard itself includes the details about this.
With regard to the tools, you can try the LinkEHR Editor. It is a generic archetype editor which works with any RM, including EN13606. Although it is not a clinical oriented tool at this moment (we are working on it :-)), at least guides you in defining archetypes following the RM structure. You can find it at http://www.linkehr.com/
