2019 openEHR Software Program document

Reposting here for easy searching. I would suggest @SPB members might like to read and consider if this is the right approach. This document is from a previous attempt to kick-start an openEHR Software Program, in 2019. It was written by Thomas Beale (openEHR Foundation), Tony Shannon and Phil Barrett (Ripple Foundation).

@marcusbaw @luis_marco

Please do let me know if this is something you would like to use, as it would need updating and reformatting to align with current openEHR standards, branding and logos.

Thanks Hayley. The formatting and style can be updated if needed, but the text will need to be reviewed by SPB members first. It could take some time.

I reviewed the document that @luis_marco included here: https://discourse.openehr.org/t/spb-meeting-may-21st-2026/16842

I guess it is a newer version. Or they might be merged?

I have to admit I start to get lost in the various threads of stuff to review. Could we have all documents to review in one place?

Sorry I should have put more background in the topic about the document, apologies for any confusion caused. This document is from a previous attempt to kick-start an openEHR Software Program, in 2019. It was written by Thomas Beale (openEHR Foundation), Tony Shannon and Phil Barrett (Ripple Foundation).

I’ve included it here because it was posted in a different topic by @thomas.beale and I wanted it to have its own topic for discussion. There may be some useful nuggets of wisdom in here that ccan help to inform our current SPB.

To be clear, this document does not supersede or amend the SPB ToR which was shared here: https://discourse.openehr.org/t/spb-documents-for-review/16888 - I’ve included it for a perspective on past discussions.

There are only two documents to review at this stage. Both are now in one topic for you here: https://discourse.openehr.org/t/spb-documents-for-review/16888/3

But there is no need to formally ‘review’ the 2019 document - it was posted for interest only to outline the background and evolution of the Software Program.

All SPB relevant threads can be seen here Software Program - open in case you get lost.

Awsome! Thank you so much!

Can’t read the doc, it says it’s private :detective:

Hi @pablo, apologies for any confusion. This document is for review of SPB members only. Upon their review and CiC Board approval the document will be shared with the wider community.

Having gotten around to reviewing this, it occurs to me that it has some overlap with the spirit of my comment on your other thread @marcusbaw. So it’ll be no surprise that I agree with the broad idea, although we could maybe look to more modern examples (e.g. CNCF) for further inspiration.
