Hi, I got these on my CKM dashboard - it looks I can start a review but it doesn’t make sense for those over a year or more old! Any advice?
Just decline them?
Sure, but if these review rounds have closed shouldn’t they be removed automatically by CKM? A minor bug it seems
They’re not closed, Koray. There’s been a reason that each hasn’t been able to be progressed through to publication, but no clear way to indicate that. No bug.
Roger that, thanks. I’d better get onto them then!
No urgency. Having Vebjørn in board will give us resources to try to progress them but ultimately there are underlying modelling conundrums that need to be solved in each one. That said, we often find that a pause & progressing other modelling patterns often provides the answers after a while. Patience in these situations often pays off.
Editors can choose to to close these review rounds. In that case your invitations would ‘expire’ and no longer be listed on the Dashboard. The review round can even be reactivated later if so desired. In the meantime, the status of the archetype can be set to 'Review suspended’.
The above can be useful in cases where it makes no sense for reviewers to submit a review at the moment because e.g. the archetype is being completely reworked for some reason (such as early feedback from some reviewers).
If however - as in these cases here - a review round remains open, reviews are still accepted: The deadlines are soft deadlines only (in this case very soft).
Editors simply have the choice:
- Keep the review round open and collect further reviews. (The deadline date can be extended as well if desired.)
- Permanently close the review round, set the archetype’s status to Review Suspended, rework the archetype and set up a new review round in due course.
- As a variation, temporarily close the review round and reactivate the same review round later.
Thanks @sebastian.garde very helpful
