Hi all,
Am new to this list and recently our team of developers got introduced to openEHR and the design principles behind it. Everyone in the team got totally sold on it. However, despite reading the various docs on the site (overview pdf-very helpful), we are still struggling on how to just get started with the java implementation code. We just can’t get our heard round it.
We are trying to build an application based on openEHR to manage records of HIV/AIDs patients for about five rural clinics in South Africa. We have the option of using openMRS, but we want to go with something that will easily scale to a full blown EHR and something that will accommodate the ever evolving health standards.
Looking at the models, we feel we could easily put them into the UML tool, persist the small base model, create archtypes, etc. Nevertheless we feel this is the work that has been done with the java implementation code, and we would not want to spent time doing something that has already been done.
The big question is: Does anybody on this list have a small tutorial of how to get started with the java implementation? Most probably the implementation of a simple use case like register new patient. Something that demonstrates the end to end implementation of a use case across architectural tiers.
Thanks in advance and apologies if this is the wrong forum the post.
Kind regards
Chanda Phiri
