For those of you interested in EHR Extracts, a new proposed update to the openEHR EHR Extract has been posted at http://www.openehr.org/wiki/display/spec/openEHR+EHR+Extract .This describes a very flexible and completely archteypable Extract, in which all components, including the outer structure, clinical content and demographic and administrative content can be archetyped and templated using ADL/AOM 1.5. This proposal better accommodates 13606, HL7 CDA and similar models than the existing openEHR EHR Extract, but within a more flexible and archetypable framework. It also addresses other use cases, e.g. :
- where demographic data do not need to be included within an Extract due to being visible to all systems in e.g. a national registry; therefore only references are required;
- data of multiple patients (rather than just one, as in 13606 and CDA) can be included in a single Extract - this is a typical need of pathology and imaging laboratories.
A demonstration (but realistic) template and set of archetypes for this purpose will be posted soon.
