This comment prompted me to ask for clarification on whether AS aliases are allowed in the WHERE clause and if this is intended by the current wording in the AQL specifications:
Usage of aliases in WHERE clauses is explicitly implied with “which conforms to the syntax rule of AQL variable” where AQL variable is defined here:
