Haha this nicely signals the blood, sweat and tears that went into getting this archetype right. But I’m really impressed with the result. Thank you everyone.

So true. It is an important piece of work. Despite lots of organisations and jurisdictions trying to address this area, it all seems to have been done in isolation. There seems to have been no similar work that we could draw on related to end of life decisions from the POV of the clinician, other than CPR decision. Even the naming of the concept has resulted in some ‘passionate’ discussions and created some strong and differing points of view through the process. The result seems to be a broad consensus. It may not be perfect, but it’s a very good starting point and I’m very grateful to all those who participated.

As the Editors recommend publication, it is really pleasing to note that to get to this point we have received feedback from 49 people from 10 countries in the International CKM reviews, and parallel reviews run in the Norwegian CKM in Norwegian language.

It’s a great example of open collaboration and generosity of spirit. Thanks all.

Actually 12 countries, if we count Scotland as different from UK, and Niels has moved back to Denmark while his account still is connected to his old job in Norway
