ADL Workbench beta 5

This new beta, available here, includes the following features:

  • new Class Tool: properties view, ancestors view, descendants view

  • RM meta-data tool - descriptive meta-data of each loaded Reference Model can be viewed in the tool

  • CKM icons on models

  • statistics & metrics tools showing use of RM classes in archetypes - answers ‘what is being archetyped’?

  • JSON output serialisation of differential and flat archetypes - useful for people who like reading JSON syntax, and have software that can consume JSON

  • Improved format of reference model schemas (see release notes).

  • Release notes

We are already aware of some GUI font rendering / spacing issues in the Linux and Mac builds of the tools. Other than that, please post all issue reports & feature requests here.

Hello Thomas,

Is there any grammar or documentation of the RM schema format? I have only found the .bmm existing schemas, but I’m not sure on how to interpret some of the fields.

I’ve downloaded the tool and played around with it a little. Great work! I really think a lack of (freely available) user friendly tools are a big factor holding back adoption.

I don’t have my own archetypes developed, so for now I just played around with the RM models. While submitting an issue with JIRA, I noticed that ADL 1.5 beta 3 is the latest release tag there.. maybe you should add the more recent ones as well?

Regards,

Mihai

Hi David,
On behalf of Thomas, I’d like to relay the following respone to your question:

I know it needs work, but this documented example schema should help.

Not sure if you are saying the ADL Workbench is user friendly or not, but we are certainly trying to make things better. I have updated the PR tracker to have beta 4 and beta 5, so issues reported as of the current beta can record ‘ADL workbench beta 5’ now. Sorry for the problem there.

Yes, I was saying that I find the tool user friendly. I thought the ‘Great work!’ comment would have given that away.

I have updated the issue to match the ‘beta 5’ version. Thanks!

Ok, was not sure, because from my point of view, this particular tool is only just gettinng there

Thank you Seref, I did not open that one
