I am a Professor with 30 years of diverse experience across academia, industry, not-for-profit, and the public sector. I hold a BA (NFQ9) in Sociology and Political Science (Al.I. Cuza University, Iasi, Romania, 1991-1996), a Doctoral degree (NFQ10) in Philosophy (Al.I. Cuza University, 1998-2004), a Higher Diploma (NFQ8) in Science in Computing (National College of Ireland, Dublin, 2020-2021), and a Postgraduate Certificate (NFQ9) in Innovation and Enterprise Development (Trinity College Dublin, 2023-2024). As a Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2012, I specialise in bridging Social Sciences and Humanities with Information Technology, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and driving impactful research that aligns with societal needs.
I have authored four books and over 60 scientific articles. Active in European funding programs since 1999, I have contributed to social intervention (European Social Fund) and Framework Programmes (Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe). I am well-connected within the European academic, regulatory, business, and NGO ecosystems.
Since 2019, I have led the Research Projects Division at OpenSky Data Systems, demonstrating my commitment to innovation. Additionally, I serve as an AI Expert in Residence with the Alan Turing Institute (UK). I am a member of the Association of Research Managers and Administrators—ARMA (UK) and EARMA (EU), reinforcing my dedication to stakeholder engagement in research management.
