# Problem with Pulse/Heart beat archetype

Hi,

The Pulse/Heart beat archetype from CKM,([https://www.openehr.org/ckm/archetypes/1013.1.170](https://www.openehr.org/ckm/archetypes/1013.1.170) ) when inserted into any template is giving error in Template designer (Node ID must not be null). Has any body faced this problem?

I think the problemis with the newer updates as I had used the same a year back with out any problem.

My guess is that you have not constrained the Runtime name constraint (Rate) to be either Heart Rate or Pulse Rate in the template - you must choose one or the other.

Thanks Ian,

I have constrained both presence and rate and am still getting error. See error screen and template set attached for reference

If there is an issue with Template Designer you can always report it at [https://oceanehr.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/5](https://oceanehr.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/5)

Please note that there are some differences in your attached archetype and the latest version from CKM which may explain why it is failing (e.g. the details of use_node for data and state in the maximum interval event)
