are there current plans to develop an archetype for the pediatric version of GCS? Otherwise I would develop one that fits the local needs of MHH and then it might be used as a starting point for the collaborative development approach.

I have looked into development of the Paediatric GCS archetype in the past, but from memory could not find an authoritative version for content to include as the requirements for children of different ages and capabilities seemed to add huge complexity. I didn’t pursue it for long, but parked it as a future ‘to do’, when I had more time to resolve the issues!
If you can facilitate the development of this archetype, I’d be very pleased.

Hi both,
I have a paediatric GCS that I used for Marand. It was specialisation of the older adult GCS but I would not go down that route again as it ends up being pretty messy and I am not sure there is any value in the specialisation. I think my current approach would be to clone the new adult version as Paed GCS and then adapt it from there.
I will put the Paed GCS archetype up to a CKM incubator as we should be able to copy/paste some of the terminology.

Found this reference today for GCS by the original author, updating the content in 2014. There is a specific FAQ that addresses his opinion on the version that is applicable for use in children – see http://www.glasgowcomascale.org/faq/#faq-2. I’d see this as an authoritative starting point for the Paediatric GCS development.
