# PARTY_SELF vs. PARTY_RELATED.relationship = 0 (self)

When creating a COMPOSITION with data registered by the patient we set the composer attribute to an instance of the class PARTY_SELF. But when reading the specification we see that one could also use the class PARTY_RELATED and setting the value of relationship to the value 0 (https://github.com/openEHR/terminology/blob/b10138e0ddaecca3b054f8e83016872f5b50350a/openEHR_RM/en/openehr_terminology.xml#L254C21-L254C21).

What is the correct way to document that the data in a COMPOSITION has been registered by the patient self?

Hi,

I would have said that  PARTY_SELF is the correct approach and TBH was not aware that the PARTY_RELATED vocabulary had a term for 'self'
