# openEHR mailing list update

The openEHR mailing lists have now been moved to a [new hoster](http://www.mailmanhost.com/), run by one of the developers of the mailman software. The ICANN lists are also hosted here, so we think it's safe. The updated list access details are at the usual place on the openEHR website: [http://www.openehr.org/community/mailinglists.html](http://www.openehr.org/community/mailinglists.html) .

For the moment, the list admins are mostly Seref Arikan, who performed the bulk of the work, and myself (because I unfortunately know more or less how to run a mailman list;-). We want to very quickly convert that to a set of 2-3 list admins for each list who are a) connected to the openEHR program which 'owns' the list, b) prepared for the occasional bit of list admin and c) separated by timezone, so as to deal with problems quickly. Please wait for a further announcement on this - we want to make sure the basic functionality is solid initially.

As far as we can tell, the move has gone pretty smoothly, however, there are always a few gremlins to solve. The main 2 things to check are:

  * does a **new post** you make to a list function normally? I.e. no duplications, do replies work... does it all work like it used to?
  * does a post that is a **reply to a thread from the previous incarnation of the list** go to the new list, and function as it would have previously?

If there are **any problems, please make them known on the relevant lists**, or in extremis, by directly emailing [Seref](http://www.openehr.org/wiki/display/%7Eserefarikan). I would think we should be in good order after a month or so.
