We are grateful for their time, dedication and continued commitment to the openEHR mission. Both have kindly agreed to remain as Interim Directors until successors have been appointed, ensuring continuity while the nomination process takes place.
Board Positions Open for Nominations
We are inviting nominations for the following Board positions:
Individual Representative – open to Individual Members of openEHR.
Industry Representative – open to Industry Partner Members of openEHR.

If you would like to nominate yourself, or nominate another eligible member, please submit a short statement of interest (a maximum of two paragraphs is preferred) by email to comms@openehr.org no later than 23:59 BST on Sunday 2nd August 2026.
Please include the title of the position you are applying for in the subject line of your email.
If you are unsure which membership category you or your organisation hold, please contact us for clarification.
Voting Eligibility
Eligible members and account holders within each membership category will have one vote. To be eligible to vote, memberships must be current and any outstanding invoices settled.

Can you please clarify what the constitution or articles of association say regarding term limits for elected positions, specifically the maximum number of terms an individual can serve?
The Board has discussed whether a term limit should be introduced as part of its ongoing governance review. However, this remains an open topic and no change has currently been made to the Articles of Association or the current election process.
Election Update - Individual and Industry Representatives
Dear openEHR Community,
The Individual Representative election has now closed. The result will be announced shortly.
The Industry Representative election resulted in a tie between Lukas Eksteen and Tomaž Gornik for the open Industry Representative position.
As a result, a further vote between Lukas and Tomaž is now being held. The candidate receiving the most votes in this further vote will be elected as the Industry Representative.
The new poll is now open to Industry Partners and will close at 23:59 BST on Tuesday 15th September 2026. All Industry Partner Account Holders should have received an email. If you have not received this, please let me know.
