# New website - tip of the day **Category:** [Technical (archive)](https://discourse.openehr.org/c/technical-archive/156) **Created:** 2012-12-13 12:15 UTC **Views:** 2 **Replies:** 9 **URL:** https://discourse.openehr.org/t/new-website-tip-of-the-day/14290 --- ## Post #1 by @thomas.beale For newcomers to the [new website](http://www-test.openehr.org/) (test version), it may be useful to get some tips on the features. Here are some useful things from the lower menu, full of shortcuts for openEHR-ites who know what they want: - the **Release 1.0.1 UML** site is now hosted on GitHub, and we are pulling pages through the canonical URL [http://www-test.openehr.org/releases/1.0.1/reference-models/openEHR/UML/HTML](http://www-test.openehr.org/releases/1.0.1/reference-models/openEHR/UML/HTML) - it's not yet perfect, and we probably should reverse proxy it, but I have not yet worked out Apache rules that work with Github to do that - Release 1.0.2 UML exists, but we have not yet created nice pages for it (you can see it on the wiki). - **CKM** is on the 'Model Repository' link - The **openEHR GitHub** repositories are on the Github link - you will see quite a number have been moved there now - The **openEHR Youtube channel** has some useful training material. Remember, if you want to post some feedback about the website, go to the ['about this website' page](http://www-test.openehr.org/aboutthiswebsite). --- ## Post #2 by @heather.leslie I’d suggest that if we have to make a tip for people to find CKM, then it would be better to consider re-naming the lower menu item as ‘Clinical Knowledge Manager’ directly, not use a euphemism. Cheers Heather [details="(attachments)"] ![gjdigafb.png|1032x259](upload://79gg5sWEsstxtfZYT7Q81NoZTPM.png) [/details] --- ## Post #3 by @pablo I would suggest to use tooltips on mouse over for those items that are not so clear to newcomers, maybe with some description of the item or some smal content of the destination page, e.g. put a video on the tooltip of the learning centre link. This plugin is what I used for the openEHR in spanish website ([http://openehr.org.es](http://openehr.org.es/)): [http://craigsworks.com/projects/qtip/demos/](http://craigsworks.com/projects/qtip/demos/) [details="(attachments)"] ![gjdigafb.png|1032x259](upload://79gg5sWEsstxtfZYT7Q81NoZTPM.png) [/details] --- ## Post #4 by @Gustavo_Bacelar I agree with Heather, in addition I think that Clinical Knowledge Manager is a very important part of the website, It deserves to be more visible to the visitors. I'd suggest to put an easily visible link on the home page. Regards --- ## Post #5 by @thomas.beale My preference would be just 'CKM' since the links at the bottom are supposed to be for users who already have a clue. Can you please record this on the feedback wiki page somewhere - then it will get done! - thomas --- ## Post #6 by @ian.mcnicoll Actually as a headline for people new to openEHR, I think we might need both descriptions 'clinical models repository' for those who do not know what a Clinical Knowledge Manager is but are looking for the models and 'Clinical Knowledge Manager' for those who have heard of CKM elsewhere\. I agree more prominence on the frint page might be helpful\. Ian --- ## Post #7 by @thomas.beale Great idea - please paste this on to the , then it will get done! (I'm going to keep repeating that ;-) - thomas --- ## Post #8 by @pablo done ;) --- ## Post #9 by @thomas.beale Fixes: - we now have tooltips on links at the bottom (the ones that are not necessarily obvious from their name, e.g. "GitHub") - Some links have been renamed to have 'CKM' in the title, to make it more obvious where they point - CKM link at the top right, next to the 'wiki' link - we can think of wiki and CKM as the major extensions of the website Tips: - looking for the specification releases? [Here](http://www-test.openehr.org/programs/specification/releases/) they are... --- ## Post #10 by @thomas.beale Don't forget the live news coming from #openEHR and #CKM --- **Canonical:** https://discourse.openehr.org/t/new-website-tip-of-the-day/14290 **Original content:** https://discourse.openehr.org/t/new-website-tip-of-the-day/14290
