The group is led by Dr. **Somayeh Abedian**, openEHR Fellow and official representative of **openEHR International**, who brings extensive expertise in health data standards, semantic modeling and interoperability frameworks. Dr. Abedian has been an active contributor to the openEHR community and has played a significant role in promoting collaboration between clinical and research data environments. 🧭 Purpose & Vision This working group builds on the growing alignment between openEHR and **Health Level Seven International** FHIR, expanding the collaboration to include the OMOP Common Data Model (CDM). Its mission is to bridge openEHR’s clinical modeling framework with OMOP-CDM to enable large-scale data reuse and real-world evidence generation, while maintaining clinical meaning and semantic consistency across platforms. 🧩 Key Focus Areas ā–Ŗļø Developing practical tools and mappings between openEHR archetypes/templates and OMOP-CDM entities. ā–Ŗļø Identifying governance and standardization touchpoints to enhance data quality and alignment. ā–Ŗļø Establishing community-driven workflows to connect clinical care and research ecosystems. ā–Ŗļø Exploring AI-assisted transformation tools to accelerate semantic interoperability. ā–Ŗļø Building a sustainable bridge in interoperability domain and between openEHR, FHIR, and OMOP for the secondary use of real-world data. If you are interested in interoperability, clinical modeling, or real-world evidence, this is an opportunity to join an international collaboration advancing health data standardisation and reuse. šŸš€ Get Involved 1ļøāƒ£ Contact @s.abedian via direct message or email **[so.abedian@gmail.com](mailto:so.abedian@gmail.com)** to express your interest 2ļøāƒ£ Register via the openEHR & OMOP Working Group membership form - **[https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfISVxHG15f_LjiNrRoEaBYCBSWGcq8D5KvCNhsiu8fsojVkg/viewform](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfISVxHG15f_LjiNrRoEaBYCBSWGcq8D5KvCNhsiu8fsojVkg/viewform)** Through collaborative leadership and shared expertise, this working group will strengthen the link between openEHR and OMOP, enabling more meaningful, interoperable and reusable health data worldwide. ![image|690x360](upload://eb9AdDKlGJ392LT59ITaoQ6Ko44.jpeg) --- ## Post #2 by @joostholslag I’m interested. I (together with @heidi.koikkalainen and @David-Jobling and @ian.mcnicoll ) have proposed a project to a potential customer. My/our availability at least partially depends on that proposal being accepted. --- ## Post #3 by @Abi Thanks @joostholslag :+1: --- ## Post #4 by @yampeku Count me in  --- ## Post #5 by @s.abedian Thanks, Joost. You are now registered and added to the group. Hopefully everything goes well with your proposal. I’m looking forward to hearing good news from your side! :crossed_fingers: --- ## Post #6 by @heidi.koikkalainen Could you please add me too, Somayeh? :slightly_smiling_face: --- ## Post #7 by @beatriznaven I am also interested in taking part of it! I recently came across openEHR, and through that I discovered OHDSI, its Common Data Model (CDM), and OMOP. I find this ecosystem and its approach to standardized, interoperable health data very exciting and would like to deepen my understanding while supporting the group’s ongoing work. Could you please add me to the openEHR & OMOP working group --- ## Post #17 by @s.abedian Hi Joost, Thank you for your kind reminder. Unfortunately, not this year, as all talks and sessions have already been closed. Hopefully, we will be there next year :flexed_biceps: --- ## Post #18 by @s.abedian Hi Elanchezhian, Thanks for your interest! Great to hear about your motivation to learn and contribute. I’ll add you to the openEHR & OMOP working group. Welcome! --- ## Post #19 by @s.abedian Dear Mayank, Thanks for your interest! I’ll add you to the group, and you’ll receive regular monthly meeting invitations after that. --- ## Post #20 by @mayankagra Cn you add me to WG Mayank --- ## Post #21 by @vanessap Hi @s.abedian , I tried to join the call but doesn't seem to work for me - no one is approving the request to enter in the call. --- ## Post #22 by @yampeku Hello @vanessap , we cancelled this week’s call due to teams technical problems (we weren’t able to access to start the call) --- ## Post #23 by @vanessap Thanks for letting me know. I didn't receive any email or notification, so I just waited  Edit: Apologies! My mistake, I did receive an email from you @yampeku under the ohdsi email, but I didn't see it in time because it went to my spam folder. I will pay more attention next time. --- ## Post #24 by @s.abedian Hi @vanessap I’m very sorry you had to wait … We had already cancelled the meeting the week before, as it seemed the Microsoft Teams technical issue would not be resolved by the meeting day, and unfortunately, the problem still hasn’t been fixed. According to the process, the cancellation notification needed to be sent via the OHDSI email to the WG email (to be received by all members) so it would reach everyone, but my OHDSI email couldn’t be used at that time to send the cancellation. Many thanks to @yampeku for kindly sending the cancellation email through the OHDSI working group email🌸 I don't know what happened to you not receiving it  . Apologies again to you and to anyone who had to wait. --- ## Post #25 by @s.abedian Dear openEHR and OMOP WG members, Unfortunately, we need to cancel the upcoming working group meeting. The OHDSI Microsoft Teams environment has encountered a technical issue again, and some accounts (including Diego's and mine) have lost access . As a result, we currently cannot access the meeting link or the complete participant list. But I will also send an email to somebody who filled out the membership form from the openEHR side that I have access to. The OHDSI coordination team is working to resolve the issue, and we truly hope the next session can be held as planned. If the issue persists, we will find an alternative solution to manage the meetings. Please also note that I do not have permission to modify the calendar entry, so the meeting may still appear in your schedule. Thank you very much for your understanding. Best wishes, Somayeh --- **Canonical:** https://discourse.openehr.org/t/joint-openehr-omop-working-group-expressions-of-interest-welcome/11595 **Original content:** https://discourse.openehr.org/t/joint-openehr-omop-working-group-expressions-of-interest-welcome/11595
