# How to add unit {index\_val} from UCUM?

Hi all!  
I am using LOINC where one of the units is referred as using {index\_val} but i can’t find a way of adding it in ADL designer.  
Does anyone knows how to do it or does it have to be added to the property file?

eg: [Valueset-ucum-units - FHIR v5.0.0-cibuild](https://build.fhir.org/valueset-ucum-units.html)

Hi! This unit ‘{index\_val}’ is basically the same as ‘1’, as anything in curly braces is disregarded by a UCUM parser.
